The Carp Valley covers the area of a historical carp husbandry centre, famous already in the Middle Ages. Fish-farming ponds - the biggest of which is Pond Pilawa located within the Przeręb pond complex - cover an area of hundreds of hectares, stretching along the Vistula, the Skawa and the Wieprzówka rivers. The Carp Valley is also a programme including a few inter-related enterprises aimed at creating a consistent tourist offer based on the available natural resources.
