Conservation areas
The Skawa River Valley
A wildlife-landscape complex with a surface area of 143 ha; it was set up in 1998. The conservation area was established here to protect an environment of high wildlife value, with features typical for lower stretches of submontane rivers. The protected area is adjacent to the Skawa River channel and its territory belongs to the town of O¶więcim. Within the town boundaries there are four ecological sites protecting the best preserved stretches of willow-poplar riparian forests: "Łęg Stare Stawy" (surface area 4.45 ha), "Łęg Błonie" (surface area 6 ha), "Łęg Za Torami" (surface area 15 ha) and "Łęg Kamieniec" (surface area 23.84 ha).
